You know, for everyone that's trashing the agent or the agency in cases such as this I have a suggestion. Put your wallet in your pocket with $100.00 in it and get a fit, male, 20 something friend of yours. Have him get five pound rock, stand about 7 to 10 feet from you and then throw it at your head as hard as he can and then try to take the $100.00. After that, tell me what you think about shooting someone that's trying to hit you with a rock. Oh, wait, you probably won't be able to tell us anything. More than likely, you'll be dead. Even if you aren't I bet it's real easy for him to get the money.

Now, put it in this context. Instead of being in a nice safe neighborhood with rapid medical response you're in a remote area with nobody to call for help for you. That $100.00 is now your service pistol. This fit, male 20 something is picking up a rock (which is prima facie evidence of a pending assault with a deadly weapon) and he's drawing back his arm. What do you do? Save your life or die in place.

I have 3 words, "GET OVER IT". A rock is a deadly weapon. If you don't believe me imagine you getting hit with the rock and see if you're willing to do it.

Don't assault a cop with deadly force and you won't receive deadly force in return. End of story.

The so called witnesses, coached by the Mexican consulate before investigators could interview them. If you believe the consulate officers aren't crooked then think again.

Absolutely! Eric Holder is a traitor to this nation in the first place by coddling terrorist instead of holding them accountable. By his actions one has to wonder what side he is really on, the government has been throwing our tax dollars at La Raza too, and the people have no clue. This was their way of giving the drug cartels the weapons to over throw the Mexican government. Not only is this administration helping the Muslim Brotherhood out in the middle east handing them Egypt and Libya, yet also helping the drug cartels in Mexico the weaponry they need to move into the southwest.

I would like anyone who thinks its alright for immigrants to cross the border, brings guns, and drugs, so they can feed their family's, while our kids are dying from their guns and drugs, to stand guard, on our borders!!! Being from elpaso TX, i see immigrants sleeping in my backyard when i wake up in the morning, not knowing whether their armed or not, so i say shoot to kill. no reason for our guys to put their life on the line. Just a fact at Ft. Knox ky, where the gold is, if you were to try and jump that fence or dig under it, you would be shot on site, just something to ponder.

Americans are so paranoic. You have cameras everywhere! and you couldn´t even stop what happened in N.Y. in the twin towers! and those people didn´t even entered through Mexico. They entered by air and through Canada. Do Americans also have cameras over there? Maybe you should pay more attention to the Canadian Border.

Apparently the truth is, the BP agent came across 8 illegals, 7 surrendered and the eighth attacked him. He was justified in shooting as if the other 7 had joined in, his life would have been in danger. Besides, if you attack an armed police officer you deserve what you get. What do people expect the agent to do, allow the illegal, for that read criminal, beat him up, steal his weapon and join in the crime spree that is going on?

The most interesting part of the story is that several Mexican diplomats showed up at the jail and began to interview and coach all the "witnesses" as a group BEFORE the police detectives had a chance to speak to them.

Sorry no sympathy... while it is sad someone lost their life, they were breaking the law purposely.... If I run out of a bank that I just robbed with the money and a cop shoots me are you going to have remorse for me??? The people that come here illegally are breaking the law and violating our security.. our security is our borders... and when people cross those without permission it is putting all of us at risk, our lives, our families lives, our friends lives, our neighbor's lives... every citizen and legal immigrant is at risk when our security is violated... they have to do something... unless you want them to be a door greeter :)
