...who pays for the guests that are attending? My BF and I have talked about how we want a small destiantion wedding where it is the best man & guest, maid of honor & guest, parents, our children from previous marriages and that's it. Since we are saving the cost of a big wedding & reception, my BF thinks we have to pay for the enitre party to go on this trip which would be a 1 week cruise or all inclusive resort.

With our destionational wedding in Maui (with honeymoon cruiz afterwards), our guest (close family) is paying there own way. My fiance and I are helping with expense at the best ability we can.

Whoever wants to come on the beautiful trip should fork some of the expense. That is the reason why to go with travel agencies that do group rates or discounts in some other forms.

The guests are supposed to pay their own way, but please be fair to them as well. It may not be possible financially for every guest that you invite to come. If you are having a wedding party (moh or bm) then perhaps as their gift for being in your wedding you may want to offset some of their expenses.

Guests pay their own expenses but it would be very generous if you could help them out in any way.

I am having the same problem. All of my guest were able and willing to pay for their own expences. I did do some searching for them for the closest and cheapest lodging, ext. I put this along with #'s for reservations, and they were just grateful I helped them out with that.

Guests pay their own travel expenses. However, it would be incredibly generous of you to cover it for them.
