I am thinking of getting another tattoo done for my birthday. I have one already on my right bum cheek, of a Cat and the Fender logo. Should I have this one done on my lower back or my shoulder? Will it hurt more than the last one? Any tattoo advice welcome! Thanks :)

Also, does anyone ever get little sharp pains in their tattoos long after they have healed up? or is it just psychological?

i like the tat idea. i like the shoulder idea. with the right tilt to it, it would look nice, but it would also look good on the back. it might hurt more, just because of the placement. i don't know how much a butt tat hurts, but i heard that the lower back hurts (not much fat), and my husband got a tat on his shoulder blade, and it hurt a lot.

i never experienced sharp pains in my tattoo, but take a look at yours, and make sure nothing looks "off" about it.

good luck!

My lower back hurt, and then it hurt more when I had it covered with a better tattoo. But personally I wouldn't get that tribal tattoo. But you get what YOU want. Don't let use tell you what to do or even influence you when it comes to personal body art.

And I don't think your tat should hurt after it's healed. There is always the possibility that the artist went too deep. Try a different artist. Research your choices and choose carefully.

I personally don't really care for the "pointy thingy" tattoo look.....what is the meaning? If you can handle having one on your butt cheek, you can handle it on your shoulder, don't get one on your lower back, it's waaaay to common. Maybe it would look good between your shoulder blades, in the middle, (thats were mine is). Yeah, actually I do get sharp pains in mine!! Weird huh? I also think it itches more in that area. I think you should re-think that exact tat picture, you can do better than that!!! Good luck, (I hope you didn't think I was being bitchy, cause I didn't mean to be)!

I think getting a tat on your butt would be the least painful because there is no bone to tattoo over. I have one on my lower back and i'm not gonna lie it hurt. My husband has two on his back one in the upper middle and one on the back of his shoulder. He says it hurts when they get over bone. No matter where you get it it's going to hurt at least a little. You have to decide if it's worth it to you and where you want it stuck for the rest of your life.

At some point in your life, you will regret any tattoos. Trust me, it'll happen.

However, if you choose to get tattoos, at least put them in a place where you're LESS likely to have regret. While it's a shame to hide away artwork on your bum or lower back, it'll be a good thing when you're trying to get a job, talking yourself out of ticket, being a witness or defendant in court, and many other times.

If you must, go with the lower back. Some day, you'll want to have a "naked" shoulder.

Plus, when your body does start to decline, you don't want a messed up tattoo on your shoulder. On your bum or lower back, no one will ever have to see them.

first of all, WHY would you get that? does it hold any special meaning to you? i don't understand why people want to get tribal style tattoos that don't mean anything AND are not all that great looking. if you like it, then i guess get it but if i were you i would think about it a little more and get something that is worth having.

go for what you like. a tattoo isn't true expression if you'll let others sway your decision! hehe. anyhow, i personally wouldn't go tribal, or go with THAT tribal anyway. there's much more artistic diversity out there then to go with something so bland.

but like i said do what you want!!!

and no ive never had sharp pains and ive got like 7 tattoos. none yet anyway. lol.

i realy like that tattoo. i think i would get it on my shoulder if i were you. sometimes pain can be caused if the tattoo artist went to far into your skin. but it may just be psychological too.

it's up to you but I think it's too tribal. i got something with tribal and I regret it and I'm saving up to have it removed.

I have tat on directly on my spine in the middle of back and that hurt like hell. From what I hear lower back isn't too painful.

I personsally don't have any tattoos. But I like that one, and if I got it, I would put it on my ankle, or on my shoulder blade. I think it would look bad big, so put it in a place where small tattoos look good.
