Why my Mercedes Benzes airbags never came out !!!!!?
I was involved in a terrible car accident with my parents in our 2003 Mercedes Benz E240. The pickup hit us on the right backdoor where I was sitting. I mean this car has 8 airbags and none of them even came out. As the pickup, which was was speeding over the speed limit hit us the the car spun around and ironically hit a Mercedes Benz tow-truck which was parked illegally on the stop street. Its supposed to be parked 5m (16 feet)
from the stop sign. We never saw the stop sign because it was obstructed by the towtruck, and the stop sign markings on the road was completely nowhere to be seen. The pickup hit me on the backdoor the car spun around and hit the towtruck, not even a single airbag came out. The theory goes that ur supposed to have ur safety belt on before the airbags comes out. What if u accedentally dont have them on theyre still supposed to come out. I didnt have mine on but my parents did and the front and side airbags never came out either. Now im partially paralyzed !!!!!

The pickup hit us at approxamately 50 miles per hour. My dads seat completely broke lose. Isnt that any cause for the airbags not to come out, both my parents had their safety belts on according to MB there are sensors in the seats that deploy the airbags in a collision. Their airbags never came out even though they had their safty belts on. The entire side of the car is smashed, why didnt the 'crapbags' come out. Whats the use of airbags. They should deploy even when you dont have ur safety belts on !!!! Supposed to be the safest car on earth ?

As it's a 2003 model, I'd say it fits in with the time period top UK motoring journalist Jeremy Clarkson often mentions Mercedes-Benz were having build quality problems after at some point somebody decided their cars were over engineered, decided to simplify things and as a result build quality slumped from the best in the world (and being ranked high in the JD POWER customer satisfaction surveys), to being pretty bad (and ending up at the bottom of satisfaction surveys)......... and since then have had to slash their annual profits from $3billion a year to $1billion a year to try get things back up to scratch again.

This would go under the category of "unavoidable accident".

Your airbags should have deployed. The active restraint system of your car had a defect. It was either the wiring, the computer, the sensors, or the airbags themselves. Most likely it was an electrical problem of some kind. There must of been a short somewhere. Yes, you have the right to file a lawsuit with Mercedes if your lawyer can prove in a court of law that your injuries are a result of the cars defective supplemental restraint system. People have sued car companies all the time. SUVs rolling over. Gas tanks exploding upon impact. Brakes failing. Etc.

I would suggest that you persue this and get an experienced lawyer. You can make out with millions.

The impact probably was not great enough to set off the air bags. Air bags can cause serious injury when deployed and should only go off in a situation where you would be ejected through a front or side window. The front and side impact airbags are to keep you inside the vehicle and keep your head from smashing into the steering wheel or side window or side beam. If it was this type of accident you were involved in then it could be a defective airbag.

I'm not a Mercedes expert, but it seems that you probably had some sort of malfunction. It wouldn't matter if you had your seatbelts on or not, the airbags still should have deployed. But if you were going under a certain speed, and the front end of your car didn't actually impact anything, that may be the reason that the airbags didn't deploy also.

Your not the first person I've heard that from. A friend of mine blow a tire lost control hit a pole head on and not one air bag deployed. In a E class mid size if not the same year as yours close. Poor manufacturing can still be present in a 50k + automobile.
