The answer is the tomato which has been called which has been called everything from the Moor's apple,to the wolf's peach, to the love apple.It began it's colorful history on the coastal highlands of the western South American. The word tomato stems from the French meaning French pomme d'amour, or Italian translation "pomi d'amore means love of apple.

My first guess would be the pomegranite....greek mythology. But in fact the French call it pomme d’amour (love apple), Italian pomodoro (golden apple), the Aztecs tomatl, but in English, it is simply tomato. There yah go.
