Beringer Third Century Pinot Noir 2005-From the Central Coast, this Pinot has the candied cherries and strawberries of the New World combined with the smokiness, tar and a bit of barnyard from the Old World. Soft and easy drinking.

Anything Beringer is great. But the exact taste is of oak flavor combined with the typical berry and plums. It is one of the better tasting Pinot Noirs out there. Beringer Riesling is the best though. I would go for that as well.

Pinot noir is a very finicky grape and if you handle it badly, everyone knows.

I haven;t yet met a winery that can do it with consistancy.

Concannon did one that one year was tremendous and the next year was disappointment
