54, i searched Distilleries Scotland last night.!
It gives you a map were all of them are,

From thie Water of Life site it says there are around 100 Pot Still Malt distilleries and Grain, or Patent Still, but the number working can vary from year to year.
Now how about a marathon distillery crawl?

There are quite a lot. I think that there are 4 distilleries for every Scotsman.
I think that it's 791 for some reason, I know about 90% of the worlds whisky supply comes from there
