There's an expression you may not be familiar with, but which is typified by this example - "Rip Off Britain" - a country which seems to be inhabited by a genus, unique in the world, which does not mind overpaying for their products and services. (Though, if we're going to have them, we seem to have little choice)

them that live in the uk sorry too say but the uk is one big high rip off i got vista for $100 i see in the uk there askinf for almost £200 for it that is a rip off buy it from the usa buddy dont pay that rip off price in the uk

perhaps it's due to the extra money/time spent on making special versions of Vista (without Media Player) due to the E.U.'s lawsuit?
not sure if this 'special' build of windows is public yet, but this is my guess.
