We are Americans who are thinking about going there for work, but also want to have a baby. Wondering if that is a good idea. We have seen that the health care in Singapore is fantastic, but harder to get a read on Hong Kong. Thanks!!!

hong kong has a good hospitals, but mostly is private. if you go to public hospital, they still charge you extra.

you can have baby and very safe, and the cost can be cheaper than you delvier in the state. also your child can go school for free, since the baby is born in hong kong, and they can have free education until 15years old, and the public school is very good too.

Hong Kong is great place. They have nice hospitals and good health care. You might not want to go to a public hospital though. Look for private hospitals, they seem to generally be more well-funded and have updated equipment.

i found it necessary to go to a hospital in december 2005. i saw a doctor, had 4 x-rays and 3 days of outpatient therapy, the total cost was $62.00 u.s. the service was good, the results were great and the cost, well you decide for yourself. the only thing is.............if you don't have the money in your pocket for treatment they won't give it to you. i was quite satisfied.
