I saw a lady today at a playgroup I go to with the most well behaved children I've ever seen. She had twin-toddlers (2yrs) mind you! They listened (for the most part) on the first time, were very nice (even shared) with the other children. They are just starting to talk, but I could hear pleases and thank yous out of their little mouths too!

What's her secret? Are some children just more well behaved than others? Something about twins that makes them behave better?

Children can only give what they receive. My daughter is not quite 2 yet, but says please, thankyou, welcome, i love you, on top of her normal vocabulary. We have always used those words around her, and when speaking directly to her, from day one. She also LOVES babies, hugs and kisses, and covers them up, and says "shhhh... baby sleeping". She plays well with other kids, and will share food, toys, anything, without even being asked, lol, its always funny when she offers me something gooey and half-eaten, but its sweet. She LOVES books and prefers them over television. She sometimes has to be told not to do something more than once, but not typically. Shes just a good little girl. I believe its a combination of nature and nurture, heavy on the nurture. The fact that I am a stay at home mom probably helps a lot, as well as having a happy, low-stress home. Some kids are just diffiuclt no matter what though, thats how it goes :)

Children respond to something inside the parents, good and bad. Some adults have absorbed nasty things from their parents, and the children can sense it and become irritated and annoyed on a subconscious level. They become frustrated and angry. (Why do children need to be removed from bad homes and put into foster care?) This woman you saw probably has a real center of peace, patience and love, and the children sense it and express their good selves, naturally, as it should be.

I doubt that has anything to do with them being twins. As for her "secret", we all have our own--you'd have to ask her!
