I am serious, this is not a joke. I cannot go even an hour without putting on my chap-stick, if I do my lips feel dry and cracked. I have a tube in my purse, one on my night stand, one in my desk drawer at work and one in the cup holder in my car. I constantly put it on and feel like I need to. It's not a major issue but sometimes gets annoying to me and I think it annoys my fiance too. has anyone ever had this problem? and if so how did you wean yourself off the chap-stick?

i really am addicted then, it's the non-flavored ones that I use, so it's not even the flavor that makes me use it. :(

Listen and listen well! I used to also be addicted to chap stick.
When you're dehydrated, your lips are one of the first places to lose moisture. Thefore they will feel chapped. The first thing you need to do is make sure youre drinking lots of water everyday! (If not for this reason, its super healthy.)
Also a way I stopped using chapstick was that I bought a small tub of vaseline that I keep by my nightstand, and i apply a lot before bed. Therefore in the morning my lips are very moisturized and I dont feel like I need to apply chapstick as much. Its a weird consistency and might take a while getting used to, but I think you can do it!

I know, me too.
Believe it or not, it is a real addiction. I read it in Seventeen when I was 15 or so.
I cannot go to sleep without putting on some form of lip gloss or balm, and I can't go a minute without it if I feel my lips are starting to be dry. It makes me itch and it makes me feel just wrong.
I like the flavored stuff though. My lips are never dry and cracked but still, it feels like it and I feel compelled to put it on. I don't know how you would wean yourself off of it because I have not managed to do it. Good luck.

Ok, well I love lip smackers lip balm too. I think I have every flavour ever made. I also get worried when I don't have a lip balm near me, but I don't think its an addiction. you just like to have soft lips! Nothing wrong with that. if it's bothering you however, maybe try using some Vaseline, petroleum jelly. I assume you can get that where you live. If not try getting some bland non flavoured lip balms and use those for a bit instead, only saving the flavoured ones for the weekend for a treat. I have managed to use them less than i used to, but really... is it a problem liking it? as long as you don't eat it there is no problem! :)

purchase the Burt's Bees Chap Stick. this way, for the reason which you be conscious of how lots it value you, you will not use it as lots. i think of you may attempt asking a chum to hold to it for you and tell them to not supply it to you no count how lots you beg greater advantageous than 4 cases an afternoon. do this for a pair of week, and then pass to 3 cases an afternoon. Then 2, then one, and then never. do not use it for a pair of week, after which you will pass back to having the Chap Stick. in case you start to apply it too lots, ask your pal back. additionally, you are able to placed a dash decal or submit-It word around the tube and write "$5.00!!! USE in basic terms 2 cases an afternoon!!!" or something like that. I even have the same challenge. The lip gloss at tub & physique Works is my own crack... and it expenses seven or 8 funds a tube. I went with the aid of 0.5 a tube in approximately 2 weeks! ultimate of success!!! ;)

I am here to help! Consider it Intervention time. The reason you are addicted is because of the ingredients that are in your products. There is mineral oil in 95% of American Skin care products Mineral oil is refined petroleum /crude oil in it because it inhibits respiration. Mineral oil is like plastic wrap on your body: It keeps toxins from escaping and good things from getting in. That's where your addiction comes in. The cells never get the moisture they need so you have to keep applying product to feel moisturized. Tanning Bed manufacturers prohibit the use of mineral oil based lotions for use in tanning beds because it clouds the acrylic on the beds...it actually decomposes it. Arbonne believes that plant oils are a better choice of skin care. Arbonne International has a lip product that does not have mineral oil in it. With spf 30 this product provides maximum preventative care- including antioxiant ingredients that refresh, rejuvenate and soothe I absolutely love this product! You can go to my website and check this out at www.thewayback.myarbonne.com look under the before sun line

Get rid of all of the tubes except for one. Apply it only as needed throughout the day. And before you go to bed put a coat on. When you wake up the next morning, your lips will be soft. Also, when you brush your teeth, if you will scrub your lips lightly with your toothbrush it will not only remove the dead skin but also improve circulation in your lips.

You're definitely not alone. My chapstick is my sidekick. Maybe try getting one really good brand and giving yourself a limit as to how many times a day you use it. Personally, I like Cococare's Cocoa Butter Lip Balm.

You're right you are addicted because it has alcohol in it like most lip products do. Try switching to one that doesn't I recommend Mary Kay lip balm it has vitamin A & E.
