its funny that you asked, because they don't anymore. I just remodeled a shopping cart as a sculpture project that I can comfortably live out of. it is a bit like a transformer.

They steal them from the parking lots of grocery stores. This is why some stores are so expensive on their food...they have to cover the cost of shoplifters and replace stolen carts.
