Other than fruits, fresh meat and vegetables, what's something you can find at a grocery store that is not processed and not in a can. Something you can make a meal out of.

I've just learned how truely horrible processed foods are, so I'd like an alternative to it. Although in this day and age, I would be hard-pressed to find a non-processed meal-worthy food.

Any ideas?

Sea food, bakery products, the olive bar, the cheese bar, the Chinese take out, the Sushi bar...

There's a lot of things you can get at the grocery that's made in store that's not processed.

I'm sorry, but there is NO ONE FOOD that you can 'make a meal' of and be healthy ... you need a 'mixture' of proteins, carbohydrates, fiber, plus vitamins and minerals. My husband and I shop at 'just a regular grocery store' but we put mostly meat and fresh veggies into our cart, plus some good 'breads' and some 'dried noodles' and a bag of rice. We have ONLY the 'coffee beans' because we really do like them better, and we also have a bit of the 'fun stuff' like desserts and soda ... because there is NO WAY you can live on JUST UNPROCESSED FOOD if you don't have a farm and can't grow everything you eat on your farm. Just shop 'as wisely as possible' and don't exceed the 'number of calories' you 'need' in a day (add up one week's worth and divide by 7, and you'll get a better 'idea' than adding each day separately) ... and be sure that you get 'enough' of all of the 'good things' (the 'food pyramid' they have just put out or the 'old fashioned one' if you can't understand the new one) and you'll be as FINE as you can possibly be.

Do this...just shop the perimeter of the grocery store. That way you are generally getting the freshest foods avail. Usually in the middle are all of the boxed items, the ones with preservatives. And have you considered shopping organic food?

My husband seen someplace that they placed something on the fruit to make it advance greater advantageous and the colour brighter. i offered some grapes from the farmer's marketplace as quickly as and that they tasted not something like those on the food market, they have been much less candy. i've got faith they do tamper with the foodstuff it incredibly is why theirs organic and organic ingredients.

Try rice and other cereals. But the fact that meat is fresh doesn't make it eligible to eat around the clock. You have to keep a balanced diet, and keep close to nature's products. Be healthy!

Try beans... they are good for dips and that sort of stuff. It's kind of hard to find anything in a supermarket that hasn't already been processed...
