The EIC, earned income credit, is an amount given by the government to people who work but don't make a lot. If you're eligible, the money is added to your refund.

The amount depends on your filing status, your earned income (from jobs) and the number of qualifying kids. With two kids, depending on your income and filing status it could be anything from $2 to over $4000. If you make over around $36,000 (a little more if married filing a joint return) you wouldn't get anything from EIC.

depends! How much did you earn, how much withholding, what are your deductions, etc....

Get Turbo Tax and it will help you out. Don't go to H&R Block since they hire people that flunk the final.
