Red:
Red is the color of fire and blood, so it is associated with energy, war, danger, strength, power, determination as well as passion, desire, and love.
Red is a very emotionally intense color. It enhances human metabolism, increases respiration rate, and raises blood pressure. It has very high visibility, which is why stop signs, stoplights, and fire equipment are usually painted red. In heraldry, red is used to indicate courage. It is a color found in many national flags.
Red brings text and images to the foreground. Use it as an accent color to stimulate people to make quick decisions; it is a perfect color for 'Buy Now' or 'Click Here' buttons on Internet banners and websites. In advertising, red is often used to evoke erotic feelings (red lips, red nails, red-light districts, 'Lady in Red', etc). Red is widely used to indicate danger (high voltage signs, traffic lights). This color is also commonly associated with energy, so you can use it when promoting energy drinks, games, cars, items related to sports and high physical activity.

Red typically associates with extremes... When you think of the fastest car, it probably was red. Bulls are attracted to red in which they charge. Fire is red. The international stopsign is red to alert someone of danger. Fire Trucks are red to stand out in the crowd. Police lights are parlty red. Even stop lights are red
I believe red is associated with anger because your face truns red from the pressure of blood to the face. When this happens a silent alarm goes off in the other persons mind saying, Watch out he/she's angry.
I believe the same can be said for yellow. School buses take children to school. Its safer than walking. Rain coats which are usually yellow keep you dry. Caution Signs are Yellow to alert caution for safety as well as yield signs. Curbs are yellow to safely point out where firehydrants are incase of a fire. All colors in a way have some significance. Well, atleast some to a certain degree

Look at the coloring on your face when you get mad. The blood flows closer to the skin because of the rapid heartbeat that your anger has triggered. That's why the color "red" is denoted for anger. There is no significance with the color red in the Bible

The Color Red is usually associated with Heat. for example: the burner on your stove turns red when it is Hot.
So Anger is associated with Red when someone says they have a hot temper.
This is how I understand it anyway.

Depends on your culture ... my understanding is that in the Orient, red is the color brides wear.
I think for our culture though, we associate anger with red because we say that someone who is angry "sees red" and that's actually true. People who lose all control see things through a mist of red because of the blood pumping. Anger causes an adrenaline ruse.

It means different things in different cultures. The God of War in ancient Rome/Greece was a red planet (Mars), so that may be were some of the violent connotations came from in the West. It is the color of blood, as well as the color of skin when it is flushed (such as when someone is angry). Fire is also red, and fire symbolizes God for some religions. I also believe that red is one of the more stimulating colors in the spectrum to the brain--meaning it is very eye-catching.

It is less religion and more nature. Yellow and Red are warning colors. For example red belly on a spider means deadly poison. Red is also a very noticeable and aggressive color. Unlike Blue or Green there is not a lot of red around.

I think red is associated with a threat, because blood is red. How a person reacts to a threat -- whether with anger or fear -- depends on the person. Or on the time of the month, in some cases.

Well, what do you think of when someone mentions hell? Red hot flames, the red devil, heat, anger and pain? If red does have a religious symbol attached to it maybe its something to do with hell or the devil?

I think the color of red is a color of passion. So the anger, love, hate which are subcategories of passion all fall under the symbol of that color.
