Yes they can get life insurance. They just need to qualify for it.

However, if the person is on active duty, insurance companies may not be able to sell life insurance since the military gives death benefits.

NO, Unless you pay for a Life Insurance Policy
out of your own pocket!!!If he is retired from the
US Military, his disability payments will STOP
and if he is married and he also has a Survivors
Benefit Plan, his Legally married spouse will
get a certain percentage of his benefits and any children under the age of 18 years of age
might get something depending on his will.

Well, you won't get anything if you aren't in his will, provided your mom's still alive.
That aside, you can get Servicemans' Group Life Insurance, but it's not that great a deal, frankly. Premiums really go up after a few years.
Usually one can get a better policy from any of the insurance companies in the US.

You have to accept it, and they take the premium from your retired check. When I retired it was 100,000.00 But really, for the money it costs, you can go to allstate or state farm etc and get a better policy.

Well not anymore now that Black Water USA is the new military for Bush and the neo-cons.

The US Military will be phased out of exsistance if the NEO-Cons have their way.

It will be outsourced to the likes of Black Water and our country will never look lower.
