Think about that on a small scale - do we each need to choose between good and evil, right and wrong. The answer is yes. What does this entail - that evil is of the devil and good is of God? As a Christian, that's what I believe. Some believe that there are no absolutes; however, if that is true, wouldn't everyone's definition of good and bad behaviour be valid? Does doing what's the best for all mean that it is good? Then there must be too few in the world who do that, because wars and crimes are rampant. When you do what's best for all, does the result of a vote determine between good and evil? The majority of German citizens voted for Hitler. But were they wrong because they were not the majority of the world's population?
In Canada, we vote for who is least likely to screw up - that's hardly a vote of confidence. What percentage of history's leaders screwed up very badly? Was it the majority of them? Why are problems getting worse as time goes by? Because of a MINORITY who are more powerful than the MAJORITY? Whether within religion or outside of it, people screw up, though some use religion as a scapegoat. If good and bad were absolutes and all religious people believed these same absolutes, there would be no conflict. It's the same way outside of religion. Maybe we need absolutes.

Have you ever looked at the Universe? There is no war going on in the Universe at all, however due to invented religion on planet earth there is. The war on earth is due to the evils of religion where everyone thinks that they are good, but people of other religions are evil. In all actuality all religious people could be classified as evil, since more death, torture, war, mass murder, etc, has been done in the name of religion than any other cause.

I don't think so. No. My theory on that is this: Firstly, an all powerful God could easily defeat evil without the help of humans or other living things (that he allegedly created). I think the universe is synchronous chaos - everything is neutral. Good and evil are the same thing, just different degrees of the same.

Evil is a vacuum, a nothing, a dark place where light should be. Evil is unawareness, or ignorance. It is not a thing; it is the absence of a thing. Knowledge replaces ignorance, fills the vacuum, enlightens the dark.

Progress is not about fighting imaginary beings in some mythological battle; it's about acquiring wisdom, learning goodness, charity and compassion.

Absolutely not. Evil is not eternal, and it is not a force. There is only eternal good and temporary not-good.

Of course there is eternal spiritual warfare going on across the universe. However this war has nothing to do with us instead it has plenty to do with with The Lord almighty trying to free his saints from captivity.
