middle meningeal artery is located there, and it can cause an epidural hemmorhage, which is a build-up of blood over the brain, causing brain compression and eventual death if it is not evacuated. if patient passes out and regains conciousness, but then seems delirious, you must take them to the ER immediately.

There is a large dimple in that spot in the skull, a blow there drives bones into the brain which is usually fatal.

Your brain is floating in your skull so a blow to the head causes the brain to hit against the skull, bounce off and hit the skull again. This is bad for the brain.

There's a major artery there. If you put two fingers on your temple, you can feel it pulsate. That is a major artery in the brain. If it were to rupture you would have a massive stroke, which could possible be lethal.
