Most kittens and cats get like this at times. It's usually if they aren't getting outside or being played with much to release their energy. It's just something they tend to do. All cats have different personalities so that may be why you didn't notice this much before. As they get older though they do generally calm down.

LOL, I think cats, like people just have different personality types and she is just a tad high strung. I currently have a similar cat who now at the age of 3 years and 3 months is just starting to get over those crazy bursts of energy she would release for no apparent reason. She may need someone to play with her if you don't do so regularly get her some toys, or have her chase a laser pointer or something. Some kittens just appear to be crazy like that and others do it out of boredom, or from deviating too much from their natural environments where they would be more active. Good luck but I think everything will be fine.

I've never had an 8 month kitten that was not active. If she is fine 80% of the time then what is the problem? Kittens that age often go ape. They will run around like a lunatic or jump on the walls...it's all normal.

Don't give her anything to calm her down. Like everyone else has posted, as they get older, they grow out of it.
My kitten does the same thing. Let me guess how it goes: Out from another room, Pepper comes streaking out at the speed of light. She jumps on something high, like the back of a couch, She gives you this "side ways" walk with her tail all puffy and her back arched. She makes some noises, and when you make eye contact with her, she streaks away like a coment. You then find her either trying to climb up a wall or furiously batting around something on the floor.
Just a wild guess...
She's burning off energy. That's all.

She will grow out of it, not sure when. Cats are all different. Just enjoy her now while you can. Cats are very entertaining if you look at it that way.
You don't say if she is destroying things or just being a playful kitten. Relax you shouldn't try to change her personality, not that you could. But if she is not hurting anything let her be.

I think its pretty normal and depends on the personality of the cat.
I had two and both could not be more different from eachother. One was laid back and the other was just crazy.
with our cat, she went into burts if crazyiness every so often. usually it was either because she had fleas! - believe it or not - or she would go crazy if it was really windy. It could just be that your cat has an overactive personality, so if you are worried, see your vet. Hope this helps x

She's just a kitten. Most cats are like that around that age. She'll grow out of it (mostly) by the time she's a year and a half or so.

Play with her a little more. Cats build up energy all day and they need to release it somehow. My kitten found quite a few race tracks around the apartment and believe me he uses them. Another thing to do, would to get another kitty. That way they both have someone to play with and won't build up as much energy.

It's normal. My cat will get hyper and run around the house making weird sounding growls ever since he was 4 month old. It's just his way of releasing pent up energy. I notice after these runs he will go to his potty and do his regular business so I think it also helps his digestion.

Some thyroid disorders can be cured, but many require lifetime treatment. Learn here https://tr.im/fWRys
For example, sometimes early stage thyroid cancer can be cured by surgery to remove the thyroid gland, but you will need to take thyroid hormone medication afterwards for the rest of your life. Goiters can also be surgically removed and do not always recur after surgery. In most cases, thyroid disorders need treatment over a lifetime. However, with treatment most people with thyroid disorders can live normal, healthy lives.
