This is a key sign that he wants to begin potty training. Use training pants and see if he likes them. Plastic diaper covers can be put over them.

I agree it is time to try potty training. My daughter did the same thing. When I would go to get her out of bed in the morning, she would hand her diaper to me. She was about the same age. I think when they start doing this, they do not like the way a wet diaper feels. I put her in training pants and she was broken in no time. Give it a shot, see what happens. Good luck.

Use shirts on him that snap at the crotch with a pair of pants over it. Or put a pair of little boys underwear over the diaper so if he gets the tape off the pants are still keeping the diaper on. One good thing is that being able to take the diaper off is one of the signs of upcoming toilet training success.

I would say that the easiest short term solution would be to put him in clothing that he can not get off. If it is very warm then even just a onsie. My 9month old will also try to take off his diaper and since I know he is not ready for potty training I just keep clothes on him.

My daughter did the same thing and I tried several things...
Put it on backwards, and then keep something on him, shorts or pants that he can't get off.
A happy note is that he could be getting tired of having it on... wet or poopy so you could start potty training him. Use big boy pants as an incentive. My daughter just didn't like the bulky thing, and loved to be naked, if that is the case try to reinforse potty training. He's at a good age to start. My daughter was 13 months fully trained day time. nighttime takes longer. hang in there, he could just be a natural streaker!

He's almost 2 years old - its time to lose the diapers and start potty training him. Get so pull-ups or just use underwear for him. If you must use diapers try putting them on backwards.

Put two or three of those potty chairs around the house and let him go 'au natural'. (unless you have company)

If he's potty training during the day but not at night and he's still taking his diaper off at night.... Duct tape works too... just make sure it doesn't get on his skin. Youch, been there, felt terrible!

put shorts over the top. he wont be able to pick at them. it worked on my daughter, and she eventually forgot she could do it, and doesnt anymore. she is in the potty training phase now, so wears diapers less anyway.

or it could be that he just doesnt like the wetness, and potty time may be the best action. no diapers and a vigilant mom :)

he may be ready to start potty training. now would be a good time to get him one of those little potties or a potty seat. or you could always go for the over alls. thats the only thing that kept my sons diapers on. good luck.

My son did this too- I put him in real underwear for short periods of time- he might be ready to begin potty training. I also had to layer his clothes so that it was harder to get to the diaper/underwear.
