She is dependant on you. Hence, she is your dependant and yes you can claim her.

No you cannot claim her. To be considered a qualifying child. The person must be a son, daughter, stepchild, foster child ,brother , sister, stepsister or a descendant of any of them.

AND
Under the age of 19 at the end of 2006 or under the age of 24 at the end of 2006 and a student or any age and permanently or totally disabled.
AND
did not provide over half of his or her own support for 2006.
AND lived with you for more than half of 2006.

The exception is a parent living in their own home and being supported by the children.

Possibly. You can't claim her as a qualifying child since she didn't live with you, but might be able to as a qualifying relative, if you paid more than half of her total support AND she didn't have gross income for the year over $3300. If she made over $3300, then no you can't.

Depends. Is she claiming herself and how old is she? You provided support so you may have a legit reason to claim her as long as she isn't too old and she is a student. If she claims herself there will be a huge problem with the feds

I think it depends how old she is and if she is a student. I know that my mother was able to claim me until I was 24 because I was in school. But I'm pretty sure you cannot claim your daughter if she is 25 or over and not living with you

that is not supporting her that is giving her a free ride with no responsibility. Tell her to get a job and do it herself. If you mean claim her as a tax write off ? No. Time for you to let her grow up.
