it's no more or less safe than any other file-sharing program. just install an anti-virus program if you don't already have one... and only download video and audio files, and there's no chance you can get a virus or anything.

If you keep all the options open then you literally allowing people to share your content, which is pretty risky. Also the files you download can have viruses, trojans etc. If your PC is just for this purpose and you can format it any time then no issues. If it is got some information you need then I would advice think twice what you are doing.
But if you download what you need and close the program, it might be better so that everytime you turn on your PC it's not automatically connected.

Eh enter at your own caution. Lime wire puts viruses on your computer from some files that you download from people, but all in all its an OK program. Whatever you do don't click on upgrade when the program asks you to upgrade that's the "really watched" version or so I read in the news a year ago. Lime wire was getting in trouble with the government so lime wire made a deal to where they just had to offer an upgrade that the government monitors closely.

It's not safe at all, you definitely have to know that, but if you loaded in a spare PC, and then just transfer the music or video files that you want and you have a good up to date anti-virus and spyware solution you'll be OK. But I would definitely not loaded on my main PC, specially if your thinking of paying bills, and doing online shopping from that same PC.

It's probably the best file sharing site there is...Have been using it for years and never had one problem.... However, better be safe than sorry, that's why you should always scan your downloaded files with your Anti-Virus program before opening them.
Should your AV scan indicate a problem with a file, delete it pronto.

I haven't had any problems with it ever. But I wouldn't download programs or anything with an .exe extension. If you stick to audio, video, or picture files you sound be fine.
