ok people, i did not even know that girls who got tats on thier lower back had this label! im furious ecspecially since i have a cross and 2 sparrows. i mean, i did that out of my own religious beliefs. everything that i put on my body is me saying hey i believe in my God, see?? i could see if you had something provocative put on you that someone would say something about it. why dont they say anything about when girls get something on thier neck arm or leg? why the back????

These are all man's labels and they don't amount to squat. You have tats that express your faith in a living God that loves you and has a plan for your life. Don't let mans perverse twisted meanings put a damper on your expression of faith.
My wife loves rainbows and was discouraged in getting a rainbow scene tattood on her arm because it was a symbol of homosexuality. Well before the gay community twisted the meaning it actually was a sign of God's covenant with us after the flood. My wife is proud to wear that tattoo and it is a sign of God's love not what some idiot says it means.

don't worry about it. obviously you didn't get your tattoos for anybody else. the reason most of these people say that is because they think that all girls who have a lower back tattoo want to draw attention to themselves. that of course is not true but there really is no convincing those people that they are wrong. and obviously nobody automatically becomes a tramp when they get a tattoo there. either you are or you aren't a tramp whether you have a tattoo there or not.

Yeah-I've heard that one before too-who the hell cares what others have to say!? I have a tat on my lower back-got it 2yrs. ago, I've been married for 11 yrs. to the same man-right out of high school-how would that make me a tramp? See what I mean?? Don't worry about it!! That label will wear itself out eventually-if you like your tat-then that is all that matters!!! :)

No, this has nothing to do with religion. Girls who have tats on the back are labeled that because , well, to put it bluntly, while you're doggie stylin' her , the guy has something to "see". I know it sounds stupid, but girls who have a tat on the lower back are perceived to be easy and like it from behind. And so they get a tat "indicating" so. And in movies and pop culture, girls started being more open and bold about it and admiting that is why they got the tat and so that term of it being a tramp stamp just kinda stuck. So when a guy see's your lower back tat, he is going to assume the same.

I think is has to do with the location of the tattoo and how some women show it off. I don't care for most 'tramp stamp' tattoos only because they all look the same. I say it jokingly and rarely do I think someone with one is actually a tramp.
Don't worry about the stereotype and negativity.

Wow, I never heard of that phrase. I have a tribal tat on my lower back, but I don't think anyone has ever referred to my tat as a tramp stamp. I can see why ppl would call it that, it does look sexy, but not everyone gets tats to be sexy.

RAWR! i wanted a lower back tattoo until i heard all of this negativity! but frankly i don't care about that term anymore! i think it is so lame.. movies like wedding crashers doesn't help out that much either... "tattoo on the lower back might as well be a bulls eye!" i say WTF people! its just a movie people! just because of the placement of a tattoo doesnt mean a dam n thing! its your body do what you want wiht it and all those narrow minded people can go su ck it... lol

I wouldn't go as far as to use the word "tramp stamp" I just think that lower back tattoos are too mainstream and cliche for my taste, but thats my opinion. Seriously, you got yout tattoo for your reasons and f*ck everyone else who thinks otherwise.

i feel sorry for the people who think about "doggie style" so much that they have to coin some corny phrase just because of a tattoo!!
if a girl has a tattoo on the back of her neck, does that mean she likes to get hickeys?
if she has a tattoo on her foot, does that mean she likes to get her toes sucked?
"tramp stamp" has no logicality to it whatsoever!
i see plenty of girls in short shirts, showing their muffin tops, with no tattoos, who are as slutty as they come!!
and guys who say "tramp stamp," what are you doing having sex with a tramp anyway??

That term......that horrible term. Why must you poison me like this.
I hate the term. My wife got one there a long time ago, before it was a "fad" She is not a tramp. I think I will get one there. Would it be a stud stamp? Would people think it was gay. Screw them and their terms.
Edit: Call me weird, but when I'm in that position mentioned above in a few answers, that's the only time I'm not looking at tats.......
