Do you think that it's a good idea for christianity to replace competent psychiatric treatment?
I'm not saying all Christians are psycho, but I have seen on here, and met in real life, many who have said that before they found Jesus they were drug addicts, pedophiles, anger management failures, --I even know one locally who freely admitted that he was institutionalized prior to being saved and that the bible was the only thing keeping him "sane" (he's still not sane) My question is, do you think that faith and repression are good answers to psychological problems, or should these people also seek professional treatment?
I'm not seeing where it violates any community guidelines

Uh, ......... I think the question offended some Christians. I'm a Christian and it doesn't offend me so I'll answer it for you. Some that claim to be Christians are nuts and most are not. Have you ever heard of Governor John Roland? He was our governor here in Conn and he went to jail for accepting bribes and sex with 2 minors I think. Well, he got saved in prison. He has turned his life around rather he says Jesus has turned his life around. I know this because he goes this church I was going to. Most of us are intelligent caring people who love God. Sorry your questions got deleted.

I know that we all have a way to heal ourselves. Inner physician, you might say. We just haven't learned how to tap into it. Religion can be a crutch to some and help them get through whatever it is that they need to move on with a somewhat normal life. BUT they DO need REAL help from a physician that can balance out whatever necessary so they do not harm themselves or anyone around them. Especially if they have a relapse into their "sinful" nature.

so edit this one and ask the questions you wanted to ask.
I think psychiatry is a pseudoscience anyway, the human mind is far too complex to understand that way, every individual is just that an "individual". If people are finding help through faith, or community (in church), let them, psychiatry can do no better.

Just follow the rules.
Edit* Why was I thumbed down for this? It's true. Not follow the rules - questions won't go through and, thus, be posted. It's not like I MAKE the rules or could change them. Weirdos...

No, you can't ask just any question. It has to follow the rules. Check in the community guidelines to see what it is that you are doing wrong. Then - Ask away.

Obviously you can't ask ANY question. Their are some rules on here as to what kind of questions you're asking.
They must be too vulgar to have on here seems like.
Change your line of questioning.
