Some insurance companies offer a discount for teens with good grades. My suggestion is to crack a book and brush up on the spelling.

depends on how it is insured. do you want book value which in this case maybe nothing. Or do you get your car appraised so you can insure it for the appraisal value. The appraisal value is the smart move it will cost but will pay well where as the book value pays squat. The other consideration is do you have full coverage or just liability. This is where you take a good look at that Chevy is it really in good shape or is it really just a rolling ball of bondo. If it's the bondo king just get liability if it is a good car get full coverage. The cost varies mightily by company but you can look forward to 100+ dollar a month insurance bills especially if the Chevy has a V-8.

I would say the same as an adult if you're referring to the value of the car.

A 17 year old can NOT have car insurance under their name. You have to be 18 years old or older.
