Or do you honestly think we can stop the earth from cooling??
The Ice caps are melting its to late they are melting unless someone can turn the A/C on. the only way for man to stop putting CO2 in the air is to knock back about 500 years of Tech. Are you willing to do this?? Honestly dig deep down and answer that everything you buy comes from factories, everything you buy comes from ships, trucks, trains. Wanna give it all up?? For a cycle noone has any control of... We have just recently in the last 100 years been able to see Ice caps we don't know what they looked like past that, do we?? The earth is warming duh, but the earth also cools. And has done so for ever. It was tropical during the Dinosar days, then came a ice covered period. I would hate to see the size of Dino SUV's they must have really warmed the planet up. Haha I also work in this so called oil field as do millions of others. Want to cost all those jobs over this man made myth?? You might lose yours due to more

No.
Each country wants to act autonomously. No country is going to agree to the necessarily restrictive controls on greenhouse emissions if those controls aren't applied to all countries all at the same time, so nobody is going to start. Those countries with rain forest will continue cutting the trees down since it pushes their economy. Industrialized countries will continue to churn out CO2. There will be no worldwide agreement, hence there will be no action.
Humanity is doomed by the fact that we simply won't agree with each other to act. Governments don't seem to see the big picture that it might be necessary to endure major hardships now to avoid being incinerated later, and nobody wants to endure those hardships unless everybody else is in the same boat. So it never happens.
Nothing happens.

You make a good argument for alternative fuel sources.
Unfortunately, too many of the powers that be are the ones that profit from all that you mentioned and because of that, the only way that change will come about is the ultimate destruction of the world as we know it.
Hopefully, whomever and or whatever God allows to exist after that won’t F CK IT UP THE WAY WE DO.

I don't know if we can stop it, but I see no reason to think we can't slow it down. If it is mostly caused by anthropogenic emissions of CO2, then a decrease in the emissions would obviously slow it.
Of course, there are those who argue that it isn't, in fact, caused by CO2, therefore we can do nothing about it. But since they have failed to provide an alternative model wherein CO2 does not affect temperatures and there is evidence of some natural forcing, I have no choice but to accept that it is caused by human CO2 emissions and that a decrease in said emissions would have an effect.

Ummm, you'll be underwater and probably dead unless you sprout gills like Aquaman.
We can use an unlimited resource to power and make everything we use today. Its called hemp, who would have known, those hippies actually got something right. By the way you can't get "high" from hemp, only the bud of the flower gets you high not the stalk-hemp. Our constitution was made from hemp paper, we can use hemp oil right now to power our vehicles with slight modifications. Everything from clothes to paper to plastic and even fuel! If only our leaders could get their heads out of their butts and learn from our mistakes of the past, but hey we wouldn't be America if we did that now would we. Iraq is far more interesting than securing our planet.

No way. The earth has warmed and cooled many times with no help from us. C02 levels were up to 18 times higher in prehistoric times (Cambrian era), and temps were not much higher than now. Its more Gore and big media brainwash than anything else, the latest Cause de Celeb.Big government and globalist idiots want to control every facet of your life, and reduce the US to a third world country.

Dude relax. It looks like you're a victim of media brainwashing. Nothing is wrong with our planet, it's just the government trying to scare you and steal more money from you (recent tax in UK - introducing a "green" tax for cheap airlines, not for a giant BA but for small Ryan Air who endangers the position of the government subsidised airline). It's all fake, do some research on your own and use your intelligence and your logical judgment. And stop watching TV, it will just make you more scared. Good luck.

I agree totally with this....the air is cleaner now than it was 20 years ago, and the temperature is still rising. I think we should enjoy the warming trend because when cooling trend comes back, it lasts a heck of a lot longer than the warming trend.
I wouldn't take back this warm winter for anything. Saved a bundle on home heating oil

well we cant change the things that we have already done but taking a step in a new direction could work. But is it possible? more than likely not because most people, like you think its not true...how hard is it to believe the planet wont last forver. Like everything on it, it too is a living thing....
