I would hug and kiss her after an eight month absence, but that does not mean more than friendship. I would not kiss her on the lips.
Men and women who are not in relationships hug and kiss all the time. Just because two people give each other a hug and or kiss does not mean that they are in or ready for a relationship. If the hugs and or kisses escalate to more than one at hello and one at goodbye then there might be something there.

I'd probably hug, but not kiss. However, when it comes to kissing, for men there is not necesssarily a need for a connection between the "feelings" and the act. A guy that is horny enough, might kiss a woman even though he doesn't have true feelings for her, meaning once he is no longer horny, the feelings aren't there.
Feelings mean nothing, they're just a temporary chemical thing, an insanity that seems to be somewhat more permanent in women.

A hug would be sufficient. Maybe even a big hug, but I don't think kissing is something that would be done unless it has either been done prior or there is much more going on.

I dont really know where you are really coming from. If i did not see my pets, friends or a relative for a long time I hug and kiss them when i do.
This is somewhat different though. You thinkk that this guy has a crush on you . Right ? perhaps so. But kissing and hugging is not all. look for other signs my love.

It would depend on what type of relationship I had with her and also on what her relationship status was. The answer will come to you when you see her. If she does not mind and welcomes the affection, you will see it in the way she approaches you when you see her. She will be open to it and will let you know in her body language and also in her expression on her face. If however she extends her hand, just extend yours and shake her's. From what you are saying though, she will be open to at least a hug and kiss on her cheek.Don't try to take it for granted that she is open for more. If it is ok to go further you will definitely know.

The reaction depends on each person. I would certainly hug, not sure about a kiss. Maybe on the cheek. Maybe if I was excited to see the person, or if I had a few drinks. Maybe if I had feelings for the person. It doesn't necessarily mean a guy has feelings for the person, but he's definitly happy to see her.

my guy friends hug me when they haven't seen me in a while...not so much kissing though...and if your asking because your boyfriend did that to a girl he knows, that would probably piss me off to. I wouldnt care if he hugged her, but i'd be mad if he kissed her.
