I am a big fan of Sudafed cold "Multiple Symptoms" It comes in a white box with Orange writing...It relieves anything I love it. As far as congestion goes...Take a pan of boiling water ad a few spoonfulls of Vics Vaporub and it will melt into the water creating this Vics mist and put a towel over your head and breathe as deep as you can. Lots of Kleenex involved for after

,well a cold always last it´s normal 10 to 14 days , they always say feed a cold , okay nobody feel´s like food , but some nice hot vegi soups with some oats , so your still getting vitamins, plenty hot drinks so you don´t dehydrate, and for your blocked up nose , try some Vick´s vapor cream add to a bowl of hot water a towel over your head , head down into the bowl and breath in . Okay it sting´s the eye´s a bit but it clear´s your congestion . Or you could run the hot water in the bathroom till you build up enough steam , and stay there for 10 min´s that help´s too . Hope you feel better soon , stay in bed nice and warm

I swear by this one. Take a coke in a 10 oz. bottle. Drink it down to the top of the label. Using the plastic ring as a stopping point, fill the bottle with a dark whiskey. I use Jack Daniel's. Crush a peppermint stick into small pieces, then add to the bottle. Before bed, shake the bottle real good and take a big drink. Don't kill the whole bottle. YOU WILL NOT GET DRUNK OFF THIS!!! My mom doesn't drink, but this method cured her cold in no time. I've even dosed my kids up with a little of this when they have a cold that just won't go away.

A good sinus rinse can be really helpful with the congestion.
Start with Afrin No-Drip to clear your sinuses. You can't rinse them if your nose is all stuffed up. Please don't try---it can actually harm your sinuses and ears.
Go to a good pharmacy and get a NeilMed SinusRinse kit. You can get them at CVS/Rite Aid/Eckerds, but probably not the grocery store or big box pharmacies. It will run you about $11-12, and it comes with pre-mixed rinse packets that you add to the bottle with warm water and rinse your sinuses.
It can be a little uncomfortable at first---a little like getting water up your nose at the beach, but not nearly as intense. It washes out all the icky stuff trapped up in your sinuses, and leaves them moisturized, too. The saline content of the rinse helps kill germs.
Be careful to clean the bottle carefully so you're not just pumping infection germs back up into your sinuses.
If you have a serious reason to fight the tiredness and soreness, God forgive me for saying this, but the old-fashioned diet pills will do that for you if you can even still get them. I'm talking about the Dexatrim stuff you used to be able to get in the 80's. Otherwise, try Red Bull. I wouldn't advise either of those things unless you have something you HAVE to do, and you can't just wait it out.
Vitamin B-12 and Vitamin B-6 may help with that feeling, too. They give pro athletes Vitamin B shots when they have to get over it and go play.

honestly, your best bet is going to be to eat like all of us normally should...fruits and vegetables. Try and stick with citrus-y fods, like oranges and grapefruit. If your throat is too sore to handle it, try some strawberries if you can find them, or a pineapple. I honestly swear by pineapple as a remedy food for immunity stuff as well as muscular pain. Obviously, you're going to need plenty of rest as well.
I'd stay away from meat for a little bit, and just let your body come back to normal. The pills and all are fine in most instances, but if you can, natural sure seems to work better for me. I'm not some kind of health nut...pretty far from it, but when I get sick, pills and medicines are my absolute last resort.

The doctors around here have been recommending Zicam. It a little bit more money than the rest of the over the counter stuff, but it works

Hot and sour soup! I'm not joking. I make mine so hot that it'll clear the worst sinus infection. Plus the chicken broth is good for colds. Drink lots of OJ or take multivitamins and vitamin C. Get plenty of rest and keep using the kleenex.
(I'm not a huge fan of OTC medicines)

Go get a homeopathic medication called UMKA. I used it last time I got a cold and it was gone in about 4 hours.
Great stuff.

right before bed, take a nice hot shower, then spread a layer of Vicks Vapo-rub on your chest, under your nose, on the sinus pockets under your ears (about where your jawbone meets your ear), and a good layer on your feet. Put socks on and stay in bed! Get a good night's sleep and I bet you will feel tons better in the morning. Drink lots of liquids (gatorade is good!) and eat lightly.
