Hello. Trust is very important so you need to feel 100% comfortable about your new vet.
Firstly go to the vets and talk to the people coming out and going in. Just explain to them that your thinking of registering your cat there but would like to know what they think of the vets, service and treatment thier pets recieve. They will be happy to answer your questions as they too love their pets just as much as you and will totally understand.
Go into the vets. Explain your situation to the receptionist and ask her if it would be possible for you to speak to one of the vets there. Ask if they have a leaflet of their practice.
Have a good look around the waiting area and look at the walls. A good vets will have pictures and information boards of helplines, missing pets, some vets have a comments section from other pet lovers.
Also you can ask your friends or co-workers where they take their pets and why they like it their.
Call the state veterinary medical association (VMA) for specialist referrals in your location.
The AVMA (http://www.avma.org) also has state veterinary medical association contact information online.
When you visit a vets check:-
Is the reception staff friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable?
Will the office hours work with your schedule and lifestyle?
What about emergency coverage after hours and on holidays?
Is the veterinary staff (doctors, technicians, assistants) professional and knowledgeable?
Do the staff members have a good 'bedside manner' when relating to you and your pet?
If the vet and/or hospital that you have selected do not meet these criteria, you may want to keep looking until you can be assured that your pet is receiving the best possible care.
Tips:
Be honest with the veterinary staff -- them why you are searching for a vet, and specifically what you are looking for.
Don't be afraid to ask questions.
Work with your veterinarian -- ask about routine care and questions about diseases or procedures that you are unsure about.

Go in and let them know you would like this done to your cat and need a new vet...ask if you can watch the vet for a while ...Let them know it can not happen today but you just wont to be sure the vet is going to be ok......Do a pop in and just see how the vet is......Also animals know if the people are good or not.

Call the office of your old vet and ask for a reference to another office. Also, I think it's best to ask around your other friends who have cats too. Ask them about their vet and how they're like with their pets. I liked my old vet, he would spend time with my cats, and ask questions, and never minded when i asked several questions. He was great. You can also call the local shelter and ask for a reference too.

properly you have an appt and intend to make money, each time an proprietor observed as on the hospital I worked at might we would say costliest direction to be truthful and enable them to be conscious of what could ensue, an examination can't be finished over the telephone. i does not say your vet is ripping you off. no different than conserving your dogs confided there isn't something you're able to do, once you get to the vet they are able to be able to grant you something for her. Aspirin shouldn't settle for on your dogs through fact it does impression crimson blood cells and there is meant to be a 2 week era between NSAID remedies, so it incredibly is ultimate to your dogs to do not something, it does appear like a protracted time despite if it incredibly is not probable it fairly isn't a existence threatening harm so it incredibly is not an emergency in its authentic sense. If this have been my dogs i might pass with the vet I even have been going to through fact i for my section like the drs and have faith them, and that they are honest in value and shop there fees aggressive to others in the section whilst giving the ultimate treatment accessible. just to make it easier to be conscious of they are able to not do surgical operation without an examination first. Your vet possibly thinking value sensible too, through fact in case you pass thorough the treatment without success than your going to could pay for that and surgical operation and it incredibly is not a protracted restoration era for a tail amputation. yet out of your answer you elect to objective the recent vet there isn't something incorrect with that and your widely used vet heavily isn't that indignant in case you pass back. despite in case you may get your information out of your previous vet in the past going to the recent vet, (it makes it easier for them to do an examination in the event that they be conscious of medical historic previous) in this occasion you are able to't be conscious of what the ultimate treatment path is till after an examination and x-ray, and you are able to talk over what's better to your dogs and precise value at that factor.
