I know this isn't the solution you're looking for at this time, however, may help in the future.

We keep Zicam on hand to use at the first sign of trouble. It has worked without fail. Doesn't totally stop the cold but sure does knock it WAY,WAY DOWN. There is a number of Zicam choices available.

And be sure to use a new toothbrush when you are well as not to reinfect yourself - yes it can happen.

Good luck and feel better soon!

You cannot remedy a cold, all you can do is minimize the effects. None of them will make your cold go away faster, they are only meant to make you feel better while the cold works it's way through its cycle.

it depends on your symptoms.

for congestion i would reccomend somthing containing either active ingredents of phenylephidrine or pseudoephidrine.

for other cold symptoms, i would reccommend ibuprofen for fever, swelling and pain, for a dry cough, pholcodine, or guafenisin for a chesty cough.

it is possible to get remedies combining pseudoepidrine, pholcodine and either ibuprofen or paracetamol in one tablet. i have found these to be the most effective. some also contain caffeine to make you feel more awake and increase the action of the other ingredients.

I always take cayenne pepper supplements when I get a cold and that usually kicks it, however if you have trouble with heartburn take some tums before. I take two cayenne pepper supplements three times a day.
