I prefer working out at the gym because there are less distraction plus you will have to spend a lot of money on the equipment. I currently workout at bally total fitness for only $7 a month for life. It is a better deal than working out at home and it is boring to do that.

Gym. I'm a relatively big guy, so I need a lot of weights for certain exercises. My current home simply doesn't have the space to accommodate that right now, and to get decent equipment, I'd have a large up-front cost. There also are certain machines, benches, etc. that gyms offer that I really prefer. Plus, if I'm at the gym, there's no distractions. I can walk in there, and focus purely on working out and leaving rather than having my wife or dog wandering in on me. It also forces me to make sure I stick to it - if I go straight to the gym, I don't have that temptation of sitting on the couch when I first get home and passing on working out that day. Finally, when it comes to cardio, I'm much more likely to do it on a treadmill in cold/bad weather than I am to run outside. All that being said, we have a small gym here at the office that I use now-a-days. The equipment is just barely enough, but it's free. For cardio, I still have to run outside though, and I typically go nights after work. However, I definitely skip it quite often because I tend to get lazy when I'm home from work.

I prefer going to the gym. If I stay at home, I don't exercise. As long as I can get to the gym, I have no problem working out for at least 30 minutes, sometimes longer.

At the gym, but only because I don't have a full blown gym at home. If I did have all the equipment I needed, I can tell you right now I'd prefer to be at home. Then I could play my music on my stereo without having to walk around with those silly earphones.

I like working out at home because I can do it when I want to and act silly without worrying about what people will think. I only use workout videos, hand weights, stability balls, and resistance tubes though, so I don't really need to go to the gym. But, it's also a lot cheaper!

as a highly advanced weight trainer I have to work out in a gym. it is just not feasible to purchase all of the weights and equipment that I need to continue to progress. I had a pretty big home gym in my old house it was about 900 sq. feet lots of equipment but just boring. I like the atmosphere of hardcore gyms. plus there are no spotters at home.

I really prefer working out at home. Even though I have a lot less equipment, I can scream like a maniac without getting kicked out and I never have to stand around like an idiot waiting for someone to finish on a machine. It takes a bit of inginuity to be able to work out certain muscles, but in the end it's worth it not having to deal with other people while I work out.

I prefer working out at home. I get all weird and self conscious when other people are around and I can't consentrate. My son, on the other hand, loves the gym. He likes all the different kinds of equipment, it keeps him from getting bored too fast with his workouts.

Gym.. Less distractions with the exception of pretty women..but the equipment is better unless you spend thousands of dollars on some good equipment. I have the space etc.. and just gave my equipment to my older son and joined a gym again. 5am is the best time for me to work out. Get it over with and have the whole day for work etc. .and it gives me lot's of energy.
