There were never rainbows before the flood because it never rained. The water came up out of the ground.

There was a water canopy above the earth.

This caused a defused light to hit the earth.

Therefore it would have been impossible for a rainbow to appear.

Once this canopy was devoid of water, (when it flooded this is where some of the water came from)

Rainbows were possible, because you have direct sunlight hitting the earth.

If it ever rained there were rainbows. Caused by light reflecting off the H20 droplets.
