Hi,

The exact same thing happened to me. I was really slim but in my early twenties I put on weight, mainly on my legs and tummy, although mine was de to eating junk food during my final year at uni.

Anyway, my best advice is to go to regular exercise classes and start by toning up. Bodysculpt classes are great for this as you develop better muscle tone which means your metabolism speeds up and without losing fat, you start to get slimmer. Plus, be careful of your portion sizes and try to have more veg on your plates than anything else. Salads don't have a lot of nutrition which means you will feel hungry very quickly so if you like veg, then switch to that.

I would advice against websites like Ediets. I tried it and then recipes included strange foods I would never eat and the shopping was so much more expensive.

Good luck!!!!

First:
Forget about a guy, any guy an what he thinks about you being heavy. if that is his standard for you, it is better for him to be out of your life!

Do not worry so much about marriage, it will happen when the time and PERSON are wright. Let life surprise you and worry not.

Second: It is quite natural an common to gain some weight during the cold winter months, it is a natural response. Just keep on exercising and watch your diet without getting compulsive about it, and you will be fine by spring/summer.

Take it easy lol!

if you think fat you will be fat , ive learned that the hard way.
you have to be confident an keep in mind that you may well at times put a bit of weight on when you dont want to.
i dont eat sweets nor chocolate an believe me im not half as slim as i used to be an dont worry about men when you find the right one he wont give a sod about your weight ,so dont worry

What I feel you should do is go on an easy diet. Decrease your calorie intake by about 300-500 calories per day, thus you then need to increase your calorie expenditure meaning more exericise(walking, running, weight lifting, etc.) Doing this everyday should decrease your about 2-3 lbs per week. This should slim you up all around making you perfect for any guy

Don't worry too much about it. The fact is that there is so much guilt surrounding weight gain and over eating, and when we do feel guilty or disappointed the first thing we do is reach for the first thing that makes us feel better, which, 9 times out of 10, is food.
So don't make a big issue out of it, enjoy yourself, and soon enough the right man who loves you for who you are, and not what you look like, will come along and sweep you off your feet.

I too have put on some pounds now that I'm no longer in my teens. Just because you don't eat much, you still need to watch what you eat. Many of unwanted calories come from the things we put ON and IN our foods, oil, butter, mayo, any condements, etc. And no matter if you don't eat much, you still need to excercise to maintain a normal weight.
Good luck!
Oh, and so what if some stupid guy thinks you're heavy, you don't need him any way!

why are u worried about what a guy thinks ..... its about how u feel and u don't seem to be happy about the weight u have put on your legs , ok so u do a lot of walking is it possible that u have gained muscle on your legs as apposed to fat ? this would make them appear bigger ... go to your local gym and ask them to give u specific exercises for specific areas ...

What is it with everyone these days obsessing about their weight. You sound like a really nice person, having abit of weight on your legs won't matter to anyone else if they're worth a curse. It's you as a person that counts so have confidence in yourself.

watch your calorie intake. You'll probably be surprised.

Aim for around 2000 calories a day. 2500 if you are active.

And if a guy thinks you are a heavy girl, if hes a loser, it will bother him. If hes worth a damn, it won't mean a thing.
