I think that God was the beginning. If knowledge is power and God is all powerfull, He learned everything from the beginning through trial, error and experience. Though your analogy of "an adolescent in science class" seems to be a bit disrespectful to me, the concept is possible. Trial, error and the examination of the results is what science is based on. This is what we call learning. It is the only way to learn without someone else to teach you. It is the BEST way to learn, simply because your learn the FACTS FIRST-HAND.
I think that God has had the experience to know that if given free will, some of us would make the right choices, and some of us would not. Unfortunately, we as a whole, haven't grown up yet as a society and chose to make decisions that cause many of the problems we have today.
There isn't a problem that we have today that isn't directly (or indirectly) caused by our own stupidity or ignorance.
The experiment is to see which of his children will behave WITHOUT his supervision. Just remember how differently you acted as a child when YOUR parents weren't around.
It is us who are the adolescents.

The thing is we're not...
We must believe! Sometimes its hard to believe in God's existence.. but we really need to trust God.. because we are NOTHING without Him.. We can't keep asking "what if.. what if.. ".. if we believe and we want an answer, we need to trust Him.. and believe that He will come through with it..
It's not that easy, and its not that hard at the same time..
God is the creater of the earth.. and He loves you.. and if you just put your trust in Him.. you won't be disappointed about Him..
We are the ones that are imperfect and judgmental and sinful.. While when we look to Him... there's grace..
Hope that helps.. if you want to talk further on that email me:

What if you don't really exist, and you are nothing more than a brain in a jar in a scientist's lab?
Maybe God is real.
Maybe God is not.
Maybe God is really my dog, because "dog" is "god" backwards.
You can go crazy on the maybes. They will never be answered, except for a slap in the face, and the person saying "c'mon...get real."

What if earth was just the starting stage in humans populating the universe, but man will be bound to the earth until he smartens up? It wouldn't be good for man to populate the universe with all the perverse thoughts he has now, would it. That would tend to destroy the universe if they got away from earth.

It can seem that way at first. But what caused all the problems? We caused them, not God. We first disobeyed him like we continue to do to this day. This world or universe is not perfect, but you can see how's it's close. We wanted a world without God and we got it, so how do we like it? not very fun huh.

Interesting I believe we are some sort of experiment. But I don't see how technology here benefits their world.

One may suppose such a thing, but absent testable consequences from the idea (which seems to me to be most unlikely) the thesis is of no consequence.

That would explain why He lost interest half way through the experiment.

yah like we have seamonkeys, perhaps he poured us from a packet of "land monkeys" and hes watching our civilization grow. hes documenting what is happening, how much anger and violence is in our "world".
i want some pet land monkeys to make statues of me and worship me, as i watch them kill eachother with nukes and stuff. would be interesting to say the least.
