just so you know im not attacking anyone for there beliefs merely asking questions. im not a fan of the da vinci code or any bullpoop like that im just curious as to why when that movie and book did so well many religious groups were all up in arms about the idea of it and how crazy it was to even think something like that.

I believe in miracles, and I wouldn't have a problem with Christ having had a family, so I guess you're talking to some other christian. You should be more specific, since the fact is quite simply, that IF Christ had a family, that would not have changed our faith one bit. On the other hand, I gotta wonder about people who read a fictional book like the DaVinci Code, and even though the writer says quite specifically its fiction, they insist it's real. What kind of people can read that book and not understand what the word fiction means? I read it, and had no problem with the concept of fictional books, I enjoyed it. I read a lot of fiction, and understand that it means its not historical or biographical. It's just pretty sad that so many people don't comprehend that.

Because if he had had sex, he wouldn't have been pure and holy and perfect. Even though sex inside marriage isn't a sin, God in any form can't have sex. That's not only contradictory of His perfect image, but it's creepy.

Think about it--who's the only Person on this planet to not have a biological father? Jesus. It's been brought up that sin, as a gene, can only be passed from father to child. It's an interesting, though obviously unproven theory. But it does raise a question or two.

If Jesus had children, it would have been in the canonized Bible. And don't blame the Catholics, because everybody knows that that would have given them another reason to reproduce, and it wouldn't have been frowned upon.

Christians have one source for Truth. That is Jesus and we get His Truth through the Bible. If the Bible, being our only tangeable evidence of Jesus and His life, is false, then all of it is. The Bible states this...

Galatians 5:9- A little leaven leaventh the whole lump.

Meaning a little untruth makes it all false.

There is nothing wrong with marriage. Peter was married. Jesus healed his mother in law. However, Jesus being married is a fairy tale, unless the Bible is completely false.

We, Christians are the true bride of Christ.

If it were proven that Jesus was married and had children, that wouldn't really bother me. But at this point, it's mere conjecture, mostly spawned by fans of "The DaVinci Code" and other "Bloodline Mystery" fantasy scenarios. My church teaches that He absolutely did not have any kind of marital relationship with a woman, but in my opinion, even if He had, it still doesn't negate, or in any way alter, His sacrifice on the Cross.

Jesus did not come down to earth to marry and have children. He came to preach to the Jews and to die for all mankind.
"..because I seek , not my own will, but the will of him that sent me." John 5:30

Jesus was a very spiritual person, not fleshly. What would have been the point to marry and have children, knowing he was going to die? People live a celebrate life a lot older than Jesus was when he died. He was a perfect man, with self-control and a single purpose.

If Jesus had a wife and children, then we would believe it. Just because someone says "the Bible and Church are wrong, Jesus had kids," does not mean it is true.

Miracles are harder to disprove, and Christians love that which cannot be proven. GOD FORBID Jesus should be human in any way, that was decided at the Concil of Nicea. Jesus was a man, and a martyr, not a savior.

Too many of them believe that the only truth is in the Bible. If it's not there, it's not believed.

the guy with no screen name,

just because some man across the ocean who doesn't even speak my language says that HIS beliefs are true doesn't make it so.

It's speculation, we will never kow the answers,
Is it really worth fighting over?
