I quit 8 years ago. Since then, I have enjoyed not smelling like an ashtray and being able to fully enjoy the flavors in wine and food. I do crave it every once in a while, but I want to be around to see my grandchildren. Unfortunately, both of my grandparents on my father's side did not live long enough to enjoy their grandchildren because they died of lung cancer caused by smoking. I only have vague memories of them and wish I had more.....

I quit almost 10 years ago. The only time I crave them is after dinner at a restaurant. It doesn't bother me at home or anywhere else.
My son used to have asthma and my daughter still has it, therefor I wont smoke.

I quit 7 months ago, and yes, you crave it for the rest of your life. My way of thinking of it is that I didn't want to die early just in case I end up having a family. I want to be healthy.

Just don't smoke every day. Limit your smoking. Break the habit of smoking. Be mind full of your health. Then one day you will just quit and it will not be that bad.

I don't crave it, but I do like the smell the first time one is lit. That's when I miss it the most.

I work as a fire fighter medic... smokers die a horrible death.
F that. quit I did.

According to my mother, she quit 27 years ago and doesn't miss it. According to my father who quit 15 years ago, he misses it every day. I'd like to quit, but then again, I like to smoke. Who knows what I"ll do in the end, but it'll be me making the choice and I"ll be happy with it.

Hrmm... if you had any guts, you'd overcome the addiction and the "torture" wouldnt be for more than a few months.

So lets see, a few months of torture or 7-10 years off your life. Not an easy decision.
