My husband wona a bowling tournament back in November and we are now doing our taxes and the form they sent us back was a 1099-MISC and we can't seem to get the sysytem to register the tournament...the options are rents and royalties and self employment...Any Suggestions please?

Enter the amount on Line 21 "Other Income" of the 1040. Depending on the software you are using, look for a category for Prizes...or just use Other.

I think that you need to be looking under other forms of income this 1099 should be treated just like a W2 that you would get from your job! Best of Luck
