YOu need an analog capture card like those from Pinnacle with the three (yellow red and white) RCA adapters like your VCR has.

Then you connect the camcorder cables to these and use the software to capture the signal.

Then your software (such as STudio Deluxe) has to conver this AVI file to WMF (Window MEdia), RA (Real player) or Apple Quiick Time (MOV) so your friends can view it

RA is the smallest file but the quality is HORRIBLE

Quick Time is a large file, but the quality is excellent.

So is WMF.

This question has been asked many, many times on this list. You need an analogue to digital converter into which you plug your analogue recorder, and which in turn is plugged into your computer. Then download your video as you would digital video, edit and share. Pinnacle make a number of such converters - I use their Dazzle Fusion.
