but I don't want to be labeled Christian at times because of how some people represent Christianity. What would be a good name for someone who Believed Jesus was the messiah, not God, hell is just the lack of God's presence, and who does not judge others, or is not intollerant?

Good for you to make this statement! I've also been trying to find a way to not be labeled a Christian. My husband and I came up with Christ-like since that's what Christian stands for. Very few seem to know this!
Everyone seems to get weird if you aren't "Christian". Like your some kind of foreigner! I'm so tired of labels...
Just keep being who you are and don't worry about others and their judgement!

To believe Jesus was the messiah is a true belief. To know Jesus is also important? how to do that is free. To be called a Christian is harder because there is so many people that profess to be in name only.
A Christian is a footstep follower of Christ. That does not mean we can be perfect, as he was, it means that we try in our imperfect way to follow the things he taught us.
The things and princibles set in his fathers word, the bible.
So then we are required to do something if we want to follow his pattern. See John 17:3. The Messiah came to buy back hope of an everlasting life on earth if we want it? This decision is up to us ,but the requirement is first ? We need to come to a basic understanding of God's word. Not what men say, but what God says.
Its easy if you search out key words and read the passages quoted. But to get a better understanding of a subject you need to have read several passages on it.
For example What is God's Kingdom and what will it do? See Daniel 2:44 Revelation 21:3,4

First of all, Jesus was and wasn't God at the same time. I know this is confusing, but this is the truth of the Holy Trinity. The Holy Spirit, Jesus, and God the Father are all God, but they are all separate. As far as your fear of how people label you, you shouldn't have to worry about that. It doesn't matter how people label you, it just matters what you believe in.

You probably truly are a Christian. I too have the same problem you apparently have. I feel most "Christians" are users of God and not servants. Have you read Cost of Discipleship? I feel it shows how Christianity should be represented by true Christians.

Very Mixed up. Jesus even called Himself God. The lake of Fire is God punishment for sin. I don't understand your definition. As far as judgment goes thats God's job and I'll never judge another. I will say that people outside Christ, those not Spirit born are not saved. Putting a person in that condemnation just isn't my place... Jim

You are not of The True Christian Faith so you can make up your own name for what ever you think you believe. even islam which is the enemy of The One True God tries to use the name of Jesus... Jim Jones used The Name of Jesus... The mormons use The Name of Jesus... using the name of Jesus dose not make one a Christian and it don't get them into Heaven... all of those listed, like you, will answer one day to God for your rejection of Him and His Word and Will for you... God will judge you... and he will say to you that you condemned yourself..and you chose to eternaly seperate yourself from Him... "So be it" will be his judgment.

Just tell people that you have faith in God, but don't choose to follow any specific religion. You're kind of eclectic when it comes to religion.
