I'm an Atheist, I don't believe in God. This question isn't saying that Atheists shouldn't post in this category, cause quite frankly, I'm the mayor of this category and I'm going to post my questions in here whenever I feel that my question is relevant.

The question specifically is, should any of us be posting questions about Atheism in this category, since Atheism is not a religion.

Clearly, atheism is a religious topic (or lack of religion topic) and I don't see where else it would be relevant. The Careers and Employment section would not kick you out if you had questions about unemployment. I think the same obviously applies here.

Atheism is not a religion, unless you want to call it 'the religion of the non-believer'. I prefer people approach religion as a form of spirituality with historical concerns, a philosophy and way of life. It is a value system and often, one's culture and history are attached. It is about community. This set of attitudes is different from fundamentalist indoctrination mixed with extremist politics, backwards views and strange forms of paranoia and hate.

Atheists often harass religious people. There is some weird flipped-out guy called "The Prophet Mohammed" who wears a cape, has a long beard and a Viking cap and asks antagonizing questions to Muslims. This is also inappropriate and rude. Nothing wrong with being Muslim, Jewish, Buddhist, etc. and asking questions and offering insight and opinions, but this other stuff is nonsense.

Well, there's still the spirituality side of the joint domain, and that term comes very ill-defined. Not all atheists are also a-spiritual, for certain values of spiritual.

And questions *by* atheists *of* religious positions might annoy even more if they were posted under "mythology and folklore."

There's always the *philosophy* option, with appreciable overlap already. But since atheists are likely to be in attendance here already, noting and commenting on the other religious questions, it seems reasonable to catch their eye, if that is desired, by posting here.
(Catching their eye by inventing a new way to spell atheist is not strictly required, but seems popular)

~~~ JD ,,,, Yahoo is the King of "Answers", that is why they erroneously divided Mythology & Folklore from Religion & Spirituality. Granted it is difficult to categorize sometimes but we must work with what we've got. The only 'type' of atheist which would not be considered "Spiritual" would be an Existentialist, otherwise the rest of us atheists happen to have varying degrees of "Spiritual Concepts" which we adhere to, devoid of Supreme Beings,,, or "Gods", as it were.
