2 times in the past week I have woken up with blotches on my hands (similar to fake sun tan lotion, and it takes a few days to fade away). The nights before the only thing I can think of that could be the cause is the juice from honeydew (feeding my sugar gliders). It's the only thing I can figure that has dyed my hands overnight - is it possible?

Am not really sure about honeydew juice but I think it is possible. I use to eat papaya everyday and even as a snack because it was so cheap in the Philippines. Then one day, I noticed that my hands had a yellow-orange hue like I was jaundiced because of a liver problem. Went to see the doctor, had some tests done and everything was normal. I was advised to stop taking papayas for a while and the yellowish discoloration disappeared. I was told I had hyperbetacarotenemia or too much beta carotene in my blood because of eating too much papaya.
