I think you are best to wait until you are 18 and out of the house. If you are 16 and in school and have a job, training a puppy just won’t fit into your schedule. They need constant, consistent training as pups and need to go outside every few hours in order to be properly housebroken. And if your mom isn’t interested, then that will only cause conflict between the two of you. Pets work best when everyone in the home wants a pet and is in agreement of what type of pet to get.

You seem responsible, but there is something you need to remember.
You are 15 years old. That's only three years away from college, if you're planning to go. Most dogs live for 15 years. What's going to happen to the dog when you go away to college? Are you going to take it with you? Most college don't allow pets in dorms. You'll have to rent an apartment or house and it can be very difficult to find housing that accepts pets.
If you can't take your dog, your parents probably won't be very happy when they are stuck with it, especially after you have promised to take care of it.
You say you have a job and pay your own cell phone bill. Puppies are *much* more expensive than cell phones. Your cell phone bill may be around $50/month, but a dog is at least $250 per month! They need collars, leashes, food, toys, training and socialization classes, medicine, and vet visits. Emergency vet bills can run upwards of $500. Can you afford that?
Plus...if you already have a husky, why do you need to have another dog right now?

A dog is a lifelong commitment. Are you going to attend college? Who will take care of the dog while you are at school. A puppy is no comparison to a car. It would equate more to having a baby. You can't just leave a dog for 8 hours while you are at work or school or partying. What happens if you have to work late? What if you want to take a trip or go away for the weekend. I think you might want to consider enjoying your current pet and see what your circumstance is in a few years. Dogs need stability and companionship. Also, really research the breeds. Go to dog shows. And if you do decide to get a dog - please buy from a breeder and not a pet store!

lol GO FOR THE CAR!!! just kidding.....i think you should tell your mom just what you put in your question......also do your home work on the breed and present what you have learned about the breed and puppies in general....think of it as a project.....the more time you spend the better the results.....talk to your mom about why she says no and be prepared to present and argument to her on why you don't agree (BUT do it nicely)....she maybe right 2 cats and a dog is a lot.......plus being 16 if you leave for college what will happen to the dog?? think about that and who takes care of the animals you already have?? can you take on a puppy?? do you have the time?? answer these questions TRUTHFULLY and present that in your case to your mom......you never know if you put the time in she just might say yes?? Good luck

Hmmm, well, your mom is right about having to many animals. The puppy may not be comfortable and won't get as much treatment. If you don't ask about the puppy, your mom will think you are responsible. Better yet, think about in college when you get that puppy for yourself and as many puppies as you want. Keep waiting and you and your mom will be happy.

Well it wouldn't hurt to ask for one, I'd just ask and see what says. Beside if you'll take care of it anyway and it's not a giant dog that's going to be chasing the neighbors then I don't see why she'd say no. If she won't let you have it though, maybe you should ask her if she'd change her mind of you pay for it yourself(then it's not really a gift but you'd win). Also remind her of how responsible you've been with the other pets, you'll feed it and take good care of it.
And well I hope you have a great bday with or without a puppy.

First I would find out you Mother's reason for not wanting another dog. Is it potty training or maybe it is just space. Every animal needs space.
I have a yellow lab. He loves people, and other animals, but even he goes looking for quite places. Maybe this is what your mom is thinking. Perhaps a small dog (usually tempermental) would steal needed space from other pets or from mom. Maybe the new addition would have space of it's own either.

A puppy is a big responisibilty. Although, it sounds from what you've said, that you're doing very well, with all your responsibilities. Keep in mind, that while this puppy may be technically yours.....you are (I assume) living in your moms house.....and trust me, as a single mom of three....everything falls onto the parents shoulders eventually....whose going to take care of the puppy while you're at school and work? Your mom.......
Puppies grow quickly...you know this.......Theres no harm in asking......but just don't be disappointed when you don't get the answer you want....don't set yourself up to get mad at your mother for telling you no. With two cats and a husky already......thats alot of animals.....
Good luck...and Happy 16th Birthday! May you be happy, healthy and wise...but most of all....have FUN!

Pups are a huge responsibility.....I am 18 and wanted a pup for 8 years, my dad finally got one for me, German Shepherd named Gunner. I pay my cell phone bill, have a job, graduated school. I am just scraping by with his vet bills and my bills. The first year is the most expensive. After that he only needs annual shots. Know what your getting into before you get into it. If your responsible with the other animals,,,,i don't see why she would be saying no....good luck
