I am looking to buy an SUV v6 4x4.

Acura offers the 2001 MDX that I can find in my area for about $15k with about 85,000 miles.

Toyota offers a 2003 highlander with about 75000 miles for about $15k.

Acura is much more a luxury SUV which I like with many more features, but the Highlander has SLIGHTLY less miles, but more importantly it is 2 years newer.

Does the 2 years newer and little less miles make it the best buy? Whats your opinion?

ACURA MDX AND THE HIGHLANDER ARE BOTH EQUAL.
THE ACURA MORE LUXURY IT WILL COST MORE TO MAINTAIN. IT ALL DEPENDS ON WHICH ONE YOU REALLY LIKE. THE TOYOTA GOING COST LESS TO HAVE WORK DONE ON IT. YOU CAN'T LOSE ON EITHER ONE.

I'd go for the Acura! You'll notice a BIIIIG difference when you get in it. It is definately more stylistic than the highlander. Ride is much smoother on the acura. I don't know about gas milage on the highlander (probably the same), but acura gives around 17-20 on their MDXs.

Neither, both have high miles. I realize that common perception is Toyota's & Handa's never break-trust me they cost money to keep on the road like any other car with over 75,000 miles.
I would look for a certified 2003-2004 Ford Escape for about 14-16.5 with less miles, and save yourself alot of money in the long run.
