LET ME CLARIFY THIS AGAIN FOR YOU. WEAVER FOUGHT TILLIS BEFORE HE FOUGHT DOKES. HIS BRAIN TRUST WANTED TO FIGHT CONNEY BUT THE WBA SAID HE HAD TO MAKE A MANDATORY DEFENSE OF HIS TITLE AND FIGHT TILLIS.

A MANDATORY DEFENSE IS A GOOD THING. IT ALLOWS GOOD FIGHTERS NOT TO PASSED OVER. ARCHIE MOORE DID NOT GET A TITLE SHOT UNTIL HE WAS 36 YRS OLD.

Don't think weaver was stripped. I think he lost it in his first defense against...ermm...
