The only way to stick to a diet is to decide you want to be healthy and fit more than you want to be fat. It's a commitment you need to make to yourself, and a choice you have to make.

Work with a nutritionist and a personal trainer to come up with a plan you can live with, and be accountable to them.

The only diet I have ever been able to stick to is one that about MODERATION not DEPRAVATION. There is nothing you cannot eat. My down fall is late night Dairy Queen. I was getting it like 3 times a week. I decided.. no.. Once a week. that is it. I think to myself.. on friday I can have Dairy Queen. Once I got into that grove, I started with my lunches... 3 times a week fast food.. turned into one time a week McDonalds, once Arby's Market Fresh Sanswich, the rest had to be Subway or Salad from the deli.

I also changed my mind when it comes to calories vs worth. I look at a bagel.. it's 600 calories... is that bagel worth the 600 calories? That's like walking for two hours.

I have managed to loose about 15 lbs in 5 monthes (incuding christmas time and thanksgiving.. when it's all worth the calories!) just from this switch in mind set.

Oh FYI, one lb of fat - 3550 calories

The only person who can help you stick to a diet is yourself. What is your ultimate goal with your diet? Write it down, or commit it to memory, and never lose sight of that goal.

"Nobody succeeds beyond his or her wildest expectations unless he or she begins with some wild expectations."

It might help if you have a friend who would like to diet also, you can help keep each other motivated. But ultimately, you have to want to do it for yourself. Just don't get frustrated, it takes time to discipline yourself to stick with it. At first it will be difficult, but every time you want to binge on something you know you shouldn't eat, just try to remember the goals you've set for yourself, and realize that you'll never see those goals unless you discipline yourself.

I lost around 50 lbs. Intensive running in the morning should take away your appetite and quiken your metabolism. Eat vegetables, fruit, water, whole wheat bread, chicken breast..etc. Basically healthy foods in small portions. It should also make your skin look great! It becomes easy when your on a roll.

I like Weight Watchers. There is an online program that you can use to track what you eat, exercise you do, and weekly weighins. The weekly meetings also help you to stay on track.

Put a 'fat' picture (of your own trouble spots, or one downloaded from the internet) on the door of the fridge and any cabinets/pantries where you keep the stuff you tend to overeat on. Trust me it will help.

I don't believe in "diets". Just eat healthy and exercise. Don't stop when you loss weight either.
