Frustration implies that one feels a sense of powerlessness to change a situation. To the extent that stupidity can be stamped out in mankind, most such efforts are in vain. The fool will always be with us. Fools are those who are so intellectually lazy that they just parrot the most convenient verbage of others without fully researching the matter for themselves. "Mob mentality" is rampant amongst those who have no clue about an issue. They have no true sense of fair play or desire to get to the real answer. Don't sweat such people and their lame remarks; just KNOW what YOU believe and be true to yourself.

My frustration level in this situation is probably on the low side, between 1 and 2. You should regard this situation as a great opportunity to educate the other person about your viewpoint. It also allows you the chance to learn more about theirs as well. If you can discipline yourself to actually hear them out, they will appreciate it, which will sometimes have the effect of rendering them more susceptible to your ideas on the subject.
