The key to happiness is "choice" - choice of knowledge, mind, and emotional (spiritual) growth. I choose to think "on these things - whatsoever is true, noble, just, pure, lovely, of good report, if there be any virtue, if there be any praise think on these." Phill 4:8 We don't deny the existence of the "bad" but we don't take them in as our best buds either...Know and Understand. Happiness is a choice.

That's an easy one.Faith. have read about 3000 books.of all types.university.yes faith is the best expression of human consciousness. It allows everything to just flow right. Its the true source of all real progress.not so much material,.but that also. Its what people need to make for a happy life.what else could it be?
Its not money my brothers or millionaires.I know that their not happy.never satisfied. My Parents had money and they had faith.and they were happy.mostly. anyways. My Uncle is one of the wealthiest people In Atlanta and their family is all smiles all the time.only good things come from them.I have noticed. and they have faith.you can see it.I can see the difference between people who have money and no faith and people who have money and faith.Faith is a necessary part of true happiness. with out it, you have doubt.when you doubt yourself you stop the flow of the spirit as I put it, some people don't believe in God so lets say the life force. whatever. it doesn't matter, as it says.have the faith of a mustard seed, that little seed doesn't know that theirs a God,it simply has faith, a type of faith that has no doubt.Faith allows this force to take charge.to make things happen.I have seen this power, this force this working of the spirit. Its a simple act.It just takes a letting go of self, and allowing the faith to come into being, having faith is the most important lesson and method of realization of the way of living I have learned. it works.!

Happiness is a state of mind. First you need to be in good health. Then have a source of income. Then some good social interaction. Then doing something that make you happy like a hobby or job you like. The moment we experience happiness is when things get better. Like your stocks going threw the roof. Or when your child speaks his first words.

In the Context of religion: lying to your self that there is a better place for those who believe in your God and secretly taking joy from the damnation of others. Telling your self that you are better because you believe.

Unless I have good bowel movement? I don't know you have to be content with who you are. You can live in a tent alone on a Island and be happy. If that is what you want.

A person who is not disturbed by the incessant flow of desires—that enter like rivers into the ocean, which is ever being filled but is always still—can alone achieve peace, and not the man who strives to satisfy such desires.
To such a man happiness and distress, heat and cold, honor and dishonor are all the same.

Do not want anything and You'll always be happy with what You have. Another path is an ample supply of painkillers, man oh man do they take the ouch out of life! A third avenue to achieve happiness is the company of vivacious younger women, Jeez Louis, can they get the happy out of me! Best of luck old Paint!

The Buddha says that the key to "happiness" is understanding the real cause of happiness and suffering... which is our own deluded minds grasping and attaching to things we incorrectly think will bring us happiness but really don't, etc. Once we learn to subdue our deluded thinking and realize that all things arise due to causes and conditions, are impermanent and so on then we begin to see the real keys to happiness.

One has to go into what's called introspect and retrospect. Do your best to heal woounds, see what you want in life. Take responsibility for yourf self-image, self-concept and self-esteem. Don't go outward for your self-esteem as so many do . Acquire emotional strength.
So many adults are so emotional bankrupt among whom are my father and sister. The two have done the best that they can to get me down to their size and they haven't accomplished it. The two have been trying for 25 years. Sad isn't it?

Contentment can be a gauge of what's happening in your life and your maturity level. But the key to being happy is not becoming obsessed with having it.
