I think the vast majority of christians would suprise themselves by not raping babies and killing old ladies, even without a god.
I think that there is a creepy very small minority who are "held in check" with a sky daddy however.

Let me start by saying there is no way to "conclusively" prove that there is no God.
As far as morals go, I've learned that everyone is born with a conscience that they can develop into what society may constitute as "good or bad". Whether or not you are a Christian. It's all part of that "free will" deal we got going on. But since our society was founded mostly on Christian and Bible based morals, then anyone who grows up in our society can accustom themselves to the laws and decide for themselves if they want to obey or not to obey our government with obvious consequences. Just as all have the free choice to be a Christian or not, all have the freedom to decide what is right and wrong in their own eyes and if that is good enough for them. Morals are not just brought upon one because they believe in the Bible, they are also learned from society, family, heritage and our natural surroundings. Some just naturally learn faster than others - and some willingly go against what they know to be considered "right and wrong".
Remember - let he who is perfect cast the first stone. We have no right to judge others, lest not God use the same judgment against us.

Religion is not the only reason that people behave themselves. we are brought up civilized, to have respect for our fellow man. A person gets treated how he treats others, and this has nothing to do with if there is a god or not. I don't believe that science can ever prove that there isn't a god, just as religion cannot prove that there is one. Only God himself can do that. For some unknown reason he/she has made him/herself invisible to humans. It is up to our own selves to decide if there is a god or gods or not, and to conduct ourselves based on human morality, not ancient religion. When I do something, I think of the consequences of the here and now, not the hereafter.

I'm Christian and I'm answering no because of the following:
All our laws are based upon Judeo Christian teachings . To disprove God would also nullify our current legal system , since it would have been based on a falsehood . I frankly , would not want to live in an Anarchist's paradise , which is exactly what would occur if there was no God and none of his principals upon which we base our laws and at the most primative levels , our behaviours.

The issue is too hypothetical to merit a well thought out answer, as the claim of existence of god is an existential statement and it is impossible in principle to refute an existantial statement. (It is possible to confirm one by demonstrating the existence of the claimed entity -- but that is not germane here.) The claims of any religion to be a basis for a moral code are specious, as all such codes must arise from evolution --- which applies to societies as well as to species.

No! People need to believe what they want. I am one of the ones that believe there is no god, but I respect the belief of others and do not want to push my beliefs on others, but wish that others would have the same respect and not push their beliefs off on me or other people. I also don't believe that, if proven, christians would go all bad ***, there are some that do all those things despite of their beliefs. Why would it change anything?

No. Well, some will. Look what happens to some people who finally grasp the logical inconsistancies of religious faith, they end up in the looney bin. I've had a few cross-carrier friends who just went completly nuts!! Ranting and railing, and giving nonbelief a crazy name.

It is impossible to prove a negative. It is only possible to prove a positive.
As a Christian, obviously I believe God exists. I also believe that unless a person is open enough to ask God, they will never find Him.

Considering some the comments that have been made about non-believers' morals, many of them would. Mmmm....perhaps that is why scientists aren't trying to prove that God doesn't exist.

There is no need to prove non-existence. The argument that we need to prove the non-existence of something is fallacious. It is the proof of something that gives meaning to that something. Without proof it is just an idea, not a fact. Since there is no proof of god then god is just an idea passed down through the generations. People can cling to their cherished beliefs all they want. Just don't try and force me to share your beliefs.
