I live in Florida and love it because of the weather! I would like a beach house, but you do take a chance of losing it in a hurricane.
Jesus of course was not talking about Florida or any other coast, but about building strong faith that could withstand pressures from the world. The illustration of a house built on sand, shows that it could be destroyed easier than a house build on rock. We need a firm foundation. It's kind of like the "three little pigs" story.

As you may know, the sands of Florida contain millions of minute pieces of Quartz, a mineral-rock. As we all (should) know, Quartz is the most abundant object in Earth's crust. Since it's everywhere, we really shouldn't have to worry all that much about what we're building out houses on anyway. Chances are, there's a bunch of rock under there, however microscopic they may be.
Therefore, using my absolute and completely flawless logic, those Christians that are living in Florida have ABSOLUTELY nothing to worry about when Hurricane Bobbit comes around next season, because it is the quartz that will save humanity.
And isn't sand just little pieces of rock anyway?
This also has deep spiritual incantation as well. It means that my spirituality, though based on the shakiest of sands, is thereby the most sturdy. For without the aid of millions and millions of rock underneath it, it surely would crumble.

I think what he was referring to is not to base your beliefs on fallasy, and he used an alegory. I don't think it has anything to do with sand though.
But, I too questioned this once and I live in Florida, and I don't own a home here. But what changed my view is that Saudi Arabia and other Middle Eastern countries live on sand. haha maybe Jesus meant to say don't build on sand unless you have good insurance (or riches).

Works are on the very heart of being a Christian , we'd desire to have self belief however the bible makes it clean that faith isn't sufficient. Romans 2:6 who WILL RENDER to each and each guy or woman in accordance to HIS DEEDS: a million Corinthians 3:13 each and each guy's artwork will develop into obvious; for the day will teach it provided that is to be revealed with hearth, and the hearth itself will try the standard of each guy's artwork. 2 Corinthians 5:10 For we'd desire to all look until now the judgment seat of Christ, so as that all and sundry might nicely be recompensed for his deeds interior the physique, in accordance to what he has carried out, whether good or undesirable. Ephesians 6:8 understanding that besides the fact that good element all and sundry does, this he will receive decrease back from the Lord, whether slave or unfastened. each and all the scriptures teach that a Christian will might desire to respond to for his or her deeds. I completely trust Rick G . To my marvel I additionally trust Lone Dissenter basically no longer the way he replied .

building on a sand means that you have a weak faith. It's different from houses. It has a figurative meaning.

He ment building your faith on sand , not necessarily your house . Translated it means don't put your faith in things that can be washed away and are unstable , like sand.
