Married now, but if I was looking I would prefer one that dresses down to earth as long as the clothes were nice and clean. However there is something to be said for a man in a suit.

Down to earth. There are special times to dress up and that's when you should. But honestly, I think you shouldn't worry about what the girls want you to wear and just wear what you want and be comfortable in yourself because confidence is sexy no matter what your wearing. If a girl likes you, trust me she doesn't like you for what your wearing. Just be yourself.

We don't exactly want to show up to the movie theatre with James Bond in the full tuxedo,
but we don't want to sit next to something that smells like @$$ either.
The three S's come into effect here - Shower Sh*T and Shave...
Put on a nice polo/untucked dress shirt, put on a pair of nice jeans that don't have oil and mud all over them, and pop a mint and YOU'RE GOOD TO GO!!

I prefer a guy that dresses up a little. But only if he looks comfortable and confidant doing it, ya know? It shows that he cares, that he's not scared to be a little different, and he has style too. Good luck :-)

I prefer a man who keeps himself well kept. You can dress casual, and still be clean and tidy.
I'm sick of the unwashed and/or messy hair, torn jeans or jeans with random stains, ripped T-shirts, etc. Another personal hate is the baggy pants around his butt, makes guys look like he has a load of crap in his pants.
It's one thing to look grungy because you job is dirty work. Construction, Mining, road work, etc. Totally respectable work! But do not show up at my door like you just got off of work for a nice date. The door will be slammed in your face. If you don't have enough respect to even bathe yourself before presenting yourself to me then I see no reason to continue a relationship with you.

I like a guy who makes an effort in his appearance, but who isn't obsessed with it. His efforts at good grooming and dress show a respect for my opinion and a respect for his self, but he shouldn't get obsessed with the label.
For example, if you're going on a date, leave the Big Dog t-shirt and ratty sneakers at home, but don't be showing off your Calvin Klein either.

I think it depends on the guy and the situation. I like a guy in jeans and a t-shirt, but there's also something to be said about a man who takes the extra time to look his best.
